Strapless Gas Rack?

V

I've been seeing photos of sleds with what appears to be a strapless gas rack, like the gas can hooks on to the rack somehow. Are these pics with the gas can not stapped in or is there really a strapless gas rack?

If so, can someone give me URL or tell me where I can get them? Do they work well?

No sorry I don't have any experience with them, they look interesting tho. I'll know more about them this winter, I think my cousin is gonna do the gas rack... I'm sure someone else will chime in with experience with them tho! I've never read a bad thing about them on here that I can remember if that helps tho!

Yay, that is what I'm looking for! Do you have any experience with them, do they work well (ie not randomly fall off)?

I have used them in the past, my recomendation would be go to the 2 smaller cans rather then 1 big one for ease of removing and putting on. I did however have mine come off on the trail once... can't honestly say though if I had put the can back on properly.:face-icon-small-con

i have heard story's about guys lifting there sled up by these!!!

Crazy.. but they must hold on there will if you can pick up the rear of the sled..

They are a sweet rig. I lost mine once in a bad roll over! But I just picked it up and slide it back on, it never did come off again. Great product!

I've run both the large mountain addiction can, and the bag. They both fit on a 155 pro tunnel at the same time, even with a Boss seat. Simple, brilliant design. Easy install, just break in the can on the rails. A friggin awesome can too in my opinion, easy to use spout, will not leak, and the big one is 3.3 gals, lotsa colors. You can make a lotta beer money from your gas guzzling buds with that deal. Good people, too. Aint' cheap, but quality seldom is.

I've got the small can and love it!! Never lost the can and carried it on my Assault all winter. I looked at many and think this is the best can out there!!

There is also this one from Craiggerbuilt (sp), its called the QRS (Quick Release System). You mount the base plate to the tunnel and the jug dogs into the base plate. Pull a T handle and she's off.

I have both and both work well. EW

Mountain Addiction cans are awesome. These are not flimsy Wal-Mart cans that dent and leak all over. They are very thick plastic and have great easy to use spouts that don't spill all over your sled.

they are sweet but i did have an issue with my large can. 3.3 it fell off and would never really lock back on to the rails. not sure what happened i think the can basically balloned and the dovetails dont match up any more i just threw a strap over it and finished the season out.

Re-adjust the rails, easy fix, especially when on a 2007 or newer Polaris tunnel.

X2 on that! I have been rolling down some slopes with my cans mounted on an Assault and never had a can coming off!

It wasn't the rails it's the can the notches they have basically straightened out. I emailed them about but I never followed up so it was my fault.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM STARTED IN THE SPRING WHEN TEMPS WARMED UP

Have a friend that has the 3 gal, comes off all the time on the trail if there are big whoops, other than that stays thru everything else, put a light bungee on it and no probs, think it depends on temp too, happens more in spring and when full

I run two little cans on my old sled, the 3.3 gallon can on my dads pro and am going to be putting the one big can on my new pro.

The two cans are nice but its not really a big deal but it is kind of a hassle to have to dump out 2 cans instead of just the one.

I have never had any problems with mounting or anything, I did however get a pin hole in one of the filler necks, emailed and replaced no questions asked at no cost to me.

The FIT is VERY TIGHT between the racks and the can, so tight infact I had to take a di-grinder and kind of mill down the rack so the can would fit, and go in and off the rack, Keep in mind this was even before the racks were mounted. The Rack was so tight that when not mounted on the sled I tried to put the system together too see how the fit was and i could not get the racks in the can all the way even when i pounded on the track to try and slide it in, (following all directions on assembly) I contacted mountain addiction and they said that it was how it was suppose to be and accused me of not using the right equipment for assembly.

Word of warning on assembly.

VERY HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT!
I have used them and will keep using in the future, hope this helps sorry for the long drawn out write up.

I love mine. I have only had one pop off once but I think I didn't have it on all the way. I have lifted the back of my sled up with these.

Yes, i had the system installed on my 06 polaris 700 rmk. Very nice and convenient to have to not deal with straps. I had one gas can on one side and a small beverage/storage container on the other side (side by side) Well worth the $$$ IMO
