Strangely clean y-pipe

I was installing a skid plate tonight and had to remove my pipe when I did I found that the y-pipe had little if any oily residue. It was black and had carbon build up that would seem normal I think but when I ran my finger inside I had hardly any oily film a bit but not as much as I would think. Is this normal it was last run pretty hard in the hills so it was def hot. Or am I crazy and should relax? It's got 800km on it. I seen lots of post of over oily pipes which would seem better than less.

Thanks

Sounds to me like you just rode it hard and put it away dry! Those complaining about all the oil are the ones that are just running them in the garage. Quick little run around the yard and in and out of the trailer. Then they tend to puke oil out as the pipe and exhaust isn't hot enough to burn the oil and/or fuel. I wouldn't worry about it.

With the ever increasing lean oil/fuel mix ratios to meet EPA standards...There is less and less oil in the exhaust... For durability... I like to to run approx 40:1 on the pump and a touch of oil in the gas (100:1)....

When run this way, there is a slight oil film on the y pipe but nothing major...and gives me peace of mind that my engine is getting sufficient lube while running
