Howdy turbo's, what 's the story with running oxygenated fuels in turbo sleds?? Trying to select the best fuel to run blended with premium in my MCX. Another question, should I run leaded or unleaded race gas?? Any info would be great. It is a premium only setup, just want a little assurance if bad premium comes along!!
Cheers

when it first came out motocross guys were all over it . in the 250cc thumpers it gave roughly 1 hp over regular race gas and up to 3 hp on the 450s . that was strait and not cut though . i don't think it would be worth the extra cost and the octane ratting is fairly low as well . A couple guys warped vales running it as well due to the lean conditions it caused if you didn't fatten up the jets . not worth the hassle ans the huge bucks they want for it .

You can run Vp Q16, its oxygenated c-16. Runs really well in our high compression 4stroke drag bikes and we are going to test in in our turbo Raptors and sleds this winter...

Q16 will work well in any naturally aspirated, turbo- or supercharged racing application. Highly oxygenated, Q16 requires a 4-6% increase in fuel flow, which will make 3-5% more power than competitive 116 octane fuels. Q16's oxygenation will significantly expand the range of air/fuel ratio acceptability, so performance will be more consistent and won't vary as dramatically with altitude or density changes. Its added fuel flow also effectively increases Q16’s octane by 6-8 numbers above its standard ASTM octane rating.
