Storm damages my pole shed, $5,200 worth, pics.

One step ahead, two steps back:mad:
Thunderstorm w/80+ mph wind, I'm told. Some neighbors have their boats and lifts upside down in the lake.Total loss.

My building is 2 years old. Measures 36 X 48 X14 ft. At least the trusses held up. That Red Oak hitting it must have been one helluva bang. I was 40 miles away camping at the time. Nothing inside damaged.

Insurance company handled the whole claim over the internet. I sent them these pics, and a few more, they were happy with the documentation. Building contractor orders parts tomorrow.
No hassles so far.:p

McGregor, eh? I'm north of Brain-nerd 8 miles, and about 2+ mi. from beautiful downtown (?) Merrifield.
You guys on Big Sandy?

Could be same storm, w/ low grade twister. I wasn't here at the time (glad I wasn't!) but my next door neighbor was and said there was a water-spout (tornado on water, sorta.) close to our shoreline.
Also had a couple boats and lifts flipped here too. I was lazy this year, and didn't put my boat or lift out. (yet?) Lucky, that.

I got a little 14ft Aluma Craft, row-boat style, for a quick fishing fix. Goes good with the 35 year old 10HP Evinrude!

Minnewawa actually...sandy is up the hill and over the road a bit. We saw teh storm from McGregor on our way to the lake...looked like a few clouds were swirling.

Almost all of the trees we first saw were going the same direction, but when we got in the woods they were going all over.

No official report of any funnels, we think maybe a spout came off the lake and grazed over the tree tops.

Some of those red pines are easily 200 plus years old. The one that snapped buy one of our cabins was big when the place was built 98 years ago.

Up here in northen MN,(Blackduck), we got licked good too. I saw the radar just before it hit us, deep, dark red, and there was tornadoes all over the place up here too. I got some hail damage on my truck, golf ball size hail. My dads friend got baseball size hail about 2 miles from my place:eek: Insurance said $3000 to fix hood, top, and windshield on my dads truck:confused:, and then there is still my truck. oh well... mother nature is a beeotch sometimes!:beer;

no kidding...you imagine how much snow these storms woulda had? My parents picked up another inch on Monday night...ground is super saturated right now...even a small wind is gonna knock over trees that the last storm didn't.

On the plus side all the lakes are back to normal or above for this time of year.

Don't ya' know, its snowmobiles SUV's and ATV's that are causing global warming, and responsible for all these storms.:rolleyes:

Actually we can usually expect 1 or 2 bad storms like this every summer, as far back as I can remember. My location was purch'd by my parents in 1955, (I was 14 :eek: ) .
Weather is about the same now as back then. Just not as much snow in MN the last 8-10 years :(, but showing signs of improving. Maybe this coming season will be better.

That sucks Wiz! We drove into it Friday night on our way up to a friends on lower Long. We were pulling a 32' 5th wheel and I got leery and pulled off pointing it west into the wind. Damn!

Got to meet some of Crow Wing's finest Sat night:eek: Some boys got into a little tussle leaving the bar:D Not me, I'm a lover not a fighter:beer;

Switch you gotta be a high roller to see any love from Crow Wing pig patrol(or Aitkin for that matter) on a summer weekend...course the bars in Emily, Outing, etc are LOADED with talent. Then again they frown on a guy drinking Schmidt...oh well.
