Store sled for 2 years of let brother ride it next season?

Looking for your opinion.
If you couldn't ride your sled for the 2009-2010 season, would you leave it in storage? (enclosed trailer)
Or, Let your brother ride it? (He is very detailed in the upkeep and care of his own sled.)
I think that letting a sled sit until the 2010-2011 season might be worse than the wear and tear of a few hundred miles.

What do you think?

I'd sell it so I didn't have to wrestle with the moral dilemma. If I couldn't do that, and my brother had a good track record, I'd let him use it. My brother is responsible but there's some that aren't. Usually the ones mature enough to loan your sled to have their own and those needing to borrow one have some growing up to do.

Take that and 3 dollars down to starbucks and get a cup of coffee.

If he is good on the up keep, tell him to put ins. on it and let him ride it. He is family after all.

Though I do have sleds I'd let my brother borrow, my personal sled isn't one of them. Depends on how responsible yours is, and how experienced I guess. Mine is responsible but lacks experience, so he'd get the smaller ones. My son is another story. He can have mine anytime he wants (and has), but it's a step down every time! As far as the other question goes....I once bought a sled that had been stored for two years. Rusty crank went out third ride. If you're gonna store it do it properly.

If possible I would probably try to sell it. It will do nothing but depreciate weather you store it or let your brother use it. Either way you lose money in the meantime. Good luck on your decision.

Why not sell it and then just snowcheck a new one next year so you have a new sled to come back to? Even if no one rides it next year is is depreciating just sitting there and the technology is getting older as well. Maybe invest the money in the meantime and it could work out that you can buy the new one for cash when it is time if the investing goes well.

Ding, ding, ding! We got a winner!
Take it to a dealer that will buy it from you. Of course it will be wholesale, but as noted, the stocks are still bargains & you should fare way better than letting it rot for 2 years.

Man, have I got a story to tell you about my EX-brother yeah I do mean EX-brother.
Never let just one sibling keep an eye on aging parent. fox in the chicken coop.

Thanks for the input everyone.
I thought about taking it to a dealer but most of the "flat lander" dealers around me won't even walk out to look in the trailer when they hear it's a mountain sled!
My plan now is to prep the sled for long term storage to be on the safe side. If someone pops up wanting to buy it then it will be on to plan 'B'.(new one upon return) Brother has his own sled (same model) to ride, but they're still going to try to start it regularly and ride it for me in the mean time.

it will be ok with gas stabilizer and starting every six weeks for min 5 minutes..block with weight off track...spray suspension rods with wd 40 etc
