Stop rippin poo 800 cfi, Question ?

My 09 D8 800 Dragon 163, Full SLP, V-Force3 reeds and a PCV RIPS, Ride around 5500 to 6500 ft. 10-68 weights and always pulls 8150 to 8250 rpms all day, Ran like cra* with the 2010 update and stock programing, I have been a mechanic a long time and talking with others and especially after installing the PCV, the whole problem only is the EPA, Polaris did not use credits for the 09 - 10 products so they have to make there sleds run under the EPA rules now with there fuel maping, There probably 2 years ahead of Cat and Skidoo, I believe you will not see the HP that Cat and Skidoo is making out of the box next year when they run out of credits and have to meet the same guidelines that Polaris has to do now,and all the problems will be with the Cat and the Skidoo, I still love the sled and like I said it rips, Good luck to everyone who wants to switch to another ride now.

Give me a break, if Polaris couldn't get their fuel delivery down pat and be EPA compliant, then it's their fault and should have never sent the 800 to market. I'm done with Polaris and my next sled will be a 4 stroke and you can take it to the bank it won't say Polaris on the side.

You also said your sled ran like crap with the 2010 update and stock fuel program, well you know what? They shouldn't run like crap in stock form, they should run well.

Are you drunk? Have you seen what AC and Doo bring to the table. The last time polaris was in the mix was in 2006 when they brought the 700 dragon to compete with the M7.
Poo won't even have an 800 next year.
Doo will up the hp to match the M8, and the M8 already outruns the m1k so AC will drop the 1 liter.
2012 emmisions have been extended, and yami who had the leap on the 3 others is now, well, a yami is a yami.

I'll keep it simple, STFU!

AMEN! Wow...

Leave Polaris, what the hell do we care? Buy a four-stroke? The crappy running 800's will still put out more HP in stock form.

I agree that a sled should run great once you spend the money. I also believe that AC in particular will struggle in the next couple years. I'm not bashing AC and I don't have a problem with their sleds. They have the big HP 800's right now. But they have to deal with EPA standards too and from what I've read, they are behind the 8 ball too. Ski-Doo will have more 4-strokes to help level out the EPA standards for their fleet.

LMAO at the blind Polaris cheerleaders, how can anybody defend a company that not only put an inferior product on the market and also lied about it's performance. I almost have to believe that you morons work for Polaris.

I'm not defending Polaris. I think they have had plenty of screw ups in the years. It's guys like you who bash and hate and have no useful input. You come on and say that the sled should just run good regardless. My 800 rips and it is a stock motor with the update. I had to do some fine tuning but I'm very happy with it. I wish I would have waited to buy until now and I would have bought someone's 800 that they are fed up with for cheaper.

Do you even have an 800 CFI to contribute useful information on? Or are all 6 of your posts useless b1tching and whinning? Other 800 CFI owners are working with each other to share information on making the sleds work.

Tell ya what, apparently the persons raising the stink about how bad Polaris is, obviously don't know or realize that Polaris as a whole, has stood behind their mistakes and defects. I snow checked an 08, regardless of the problems I have had with it, they have stood behind and fixed the problems. I still absolutely love the sled! I have thought about switching along with the next guy but when I think about the support I have gotten, i realize the grass isn't greener. Those who throw thier hands up at Polaris and move to a different Make will find the others don't back their product like Polaris does! Every company has their times when the machines they put on the market just aren't quite Spot On, but everyone knows that all the sled companies will get it right. Don't Bash something that you have no knowledge of what the fix is!

And for the Dragon dudes, the mid-range lean spot didn't get fixed with the 2-10 update, do yourself a favor and order a programmer box for it, whether its Boondocker, Power Commander or whatever you prefer, so you can program your own fuel map, its the only fix I know of for the lean spot. I'm not saying I have the answers, but through research and more research I have found this is the closest thing to the fix. Good luck Fellas

You can talk about how great the support is all you want. Once these sleds are out of warranty, we are gonna be royally bent over. The extended coverage on the update is only going to cover this season, after that, your dealer is going to say "So sorry, that'll be $2,000"

The PC5 will cover the mapping, it won't help the other electrical issues though.

Bugito, I'm entitled to my opinion whether you like it or not and yes I do own an '09 800 CFI and knowing what I know now, no way would I have bought this sled, highly regret it. Polaris has my money and for all you Polaris faithful I hope they can take a percentage of my money and stick it into research & development and make it easier for you to purchase their next product. As far as I'm concerned, they didn't do a whole lot of R&D on this machine.

I forgot all about the emision credits thing. If you are right that would explain alot about why the 800 have to be so lean. I know Cat and Doo are having some problems with it as well but just not to the same extent. I guess we will find out in the future. For now I will just run the box and have no worries.

If you changed the names these comments could have come from the Doo forums re the 2007 Summit and 2008 XP. The factories want to get it right they just don't seem able to deliver very well. It costs them dearly to screw up-both in warranty and then in future sales.

Very true, but Tudizzle has an 08 XP and it has been flawless thru 1400 miles. My dragon has 1800 and, well, you know. Hopefully I will have a new vr and ECU today to try out for the w/e.

So true & will takes lots of your $$$$$$$$$$$!
"If it has pistons or boobies it will give you problems or need modded"

ha, AND DOESN'T come with the extended warrenty to figure out that time of the month!:beer;
