Stolen Sleds in COLORADO (need some help)

Last spring 2 sleds and a trailer were stolen in Broomfield CO from my 70 year old neighbor and we need some help.
99 sledbed w/ fiberglass topcap SN#41KAS1814X2026232,
2002 Yamaha Viper SX700 SN#JYE8EK0022A010374
1999 Yamaha Mtn Max 700 SN# 8CP010619

An friend spotted the trailer around 120th and holly and the police were notified. the stickers were removed, the sn# was removed and the trailer was re-titled as a home built trailer. the guy says he bought it off of craigs list a year and a half ago.(it was stolen a year ago). With enough description (scratches, dings, scrapes, mounting locations, holes.
The trailer was returned to the rightfull owner.
But the sleds are nowhere to be found, the neighbors of the theif had seen yamaha sleds at his house before but they are not their now. supposedly the sled are at his fathers house some where in weld county, but the local law enforcement says they don't have enought proof to go look to see if these sleds are the stolen sleds.
Any body have any good ideas or contacts that could help my OLD neighbor? (ideas other than the usual go beat him up comments would be helpfull) attached are some pictures.
Thanks Curt. 303-475-6609

Based on what you described there should be enough for probable cause. I'd ask to speak with a detective or a supervisor that wants to earn his paycheck. If you can get the neighbor to make a statment and you have photo's of your sleds to verify that that is what they looked like. And the fact that the SN on the trailer is rubbed off should be unough to suspect him. Let's face it if they were tracking a murder they would check it out now wouldn't they. Probable cause in many cases is officer descretion, so if the one that took your report and is investigating it present it to him and if he doesn't agree take it to his supervisor or ask for a second opinion.

Thanks Fosgate.

If they are in Weld county and you know approx. where they are.
COntact the weld county distric attorneys office and see if they can help you out.
They may be able to get the ball rolling if the detectives don't want to help.

Thanks Ollie, I think that part of the problem may be everything was stolen from Broomfield City-County, Trailer was found in Thornton,Adams County, and we think that the sleds may be somewhere in Weld County. We'll see what happens in the next few days.
