Stolen sled

Peeps, had sled and trailer stolen. Parked in front of house and someone took off with it in the middle of the day. Wife left for work at about eight am and it was still there.Really didn't think bad economy would drive someone to do this, but it did. This was wed, the 25. Was trying to sell so didn't have insurance on it.
And to top it off it was just a trail sled. Yamaha, but still a trail sled. It is a red 2005 RS Venture on an open two place v-nose. Didn't have windshield on it, or plastic mount for instrument cluster. Both vandalized and was in process of replacing them. What a neighborhood. Anybody know of stolen sled
site or service? would really help...
BTW, this was in SLC, utah

Was the trailer tongue locked?

What area of SLC?

FWIW I'll keep an eye out for it.

trailer

No, stupid me. Had had two tounge locks that had some how broken and had to cut both of them off, on another trailer. Both of them were the same make, too, Master of all things. Now I"m really kicking myself. Appreciate the response. Area is the brickyard area of about 30th south and 11th east.

Bummer, just went out and locked mine up. Thanks

Total drag. Hope the sled turns up...... but how likely is that? Good luck.

Quik question: Do any of you use the Gorilla Guard trailer lock? It's the type that fit over the hitch then screw into the place where the trailer ball fits into. Can only be screwed and unscrewed with the key inserted. Cannot be cut off like conventional padlocks through the hitch lock mechanism. Supposedly you have to destroy the entire hitch to get it off without a key. Anyone?

Drag on the sleds hope you get them back. I always lock the trailer, at least a padlock on the coupler lock down. Buddy uses this: http://www.lockitt.com/TrailerCouplerlocks.htm#377DAT Not a Gorilla lock but similar, if you loose the key, you will have to either have a locksmith pick the lock, or you are going to destroy the coupler getting it off......

I do. In addition to a lock through the coupler.

As I've mentioned. I live right down the street from where snoboy3 had his stolen. :(

sled recovered

sled dumped off at east parking lot of south city community campus. looks like they didn't want to bother with a stolen sled. a couple of registration stickers were taken, other than that it looks none the worse for wear.
Hey, just want to thank everyone for their concern. sure was alot more than what the neighborhood showed.
thanks again
trailer still missing, it is a two place Royal v-nose that has seen a few seasons
and is more than a little rusty and paint rust bubbles and blisters. and the lights don't work either
