pulled out pistons yesterday, they seemed sloppy when i was installing my PAR12.5 head, got one ride on it before pulling pistons out.as you can see on the pics,it's been severe blow by on rings,a bit scuffing on the intake side and soot under piston crown.
my sled has 2700 km now, been running on VES gold + always.my oil consumption has been low, averaging 1.5/100 ratio.
I will post piston measurements when i get ahold of a good micrometer.
i need some inputs here on what pistons to buy.anybody running wiseco part nr sk1396?

Your pistons look to be in the similar condition of my 06 Switchback 600's with 3306 miles when I rebuilt the top end last spring. I ran Polaris VES gold from break-in. However compaired to your pistons The bottom of iinside of the pistons look burnt and quite dirty in the pics. Is that normal. My old pistons were clean and looked almost new.

On my pro I am running the Legends ZX2SR I am interested to see how clean and condition of components when cleaning the exhaust valves and when I get to rebuilding the top end.:whip:

i see they added the Pro now.anybody running this in the Pro yet?fuel controller?can you run fix kit+PAR 12.5 head?

Oil consumption should be about 1 liter to 40-45 liters of gas. Sorry, Canada speaking here. As far as the pistons go, I would seek out an aternative to the stockers. MTK Fix for the Pro's would be my choice. After the way it has improved/helped my IQ RMK, it is not much of a choice. Good luck.

canadian is ok.i am a little worried using wisecos with tighter clearance due to the lean/hot midrange on the Pro.with the CFI2 set up we have lost cooling under piston crown, since there no longer is gas there, just air and a little oil.wisecos also have been prone to loosing piston ring locking pins when they get real hot.soot on piston front wall under the rings is,according to a recognized swedish engine builder(PFracing),because the exhaust wing ports widht has increased.stock piston skirts are beefier than previous desings also, and clearance was ok on the skirts.I am a little less worried now.should be interesting to see how kelseys drop in pistons holds up in the Pros.

PS. adjusted up 5 turns on the oiler also.rod bearings and piston pin bearings was OK.no matte spots on the needles.hoping to see 1:40 ratio now.
