I will pick up my new to me 2011 Assualt later this week and I will send the deposit on a Silber turbo when I have the sled in hand . I have a really nice pre 09 holz skid I was thinking may still be the best Ive got. I have coilovers and floats for the holz and the stock assault skid has the walker coilover with resivoirs. ( also has the same track and set up as the pro RMK 155)

I thought the holz with new straight(no Kick) Ice Age rails would be the way to go

it should fit? or
Is the stock 2011 coilover as good or better?

what would you do .

A new Alpha X is out of the buget after the sled and turbo.

With those two choices Kreg... Run the stock 2011 Assault skid over the older Holz... It will give you more control with the turbo between the two.

The older Holz skid is not a great big-power type of skid.

Get Holz to custom valve the skid shocks.

The '11 155 skid has straight rails to boot.

Got to agree, the stock Susp is a very good turbo candidate.

Would you be interested in selling your coil over shocks from your Holz?

Sure one set or another needs to go! They are in great shape I only ran them one season and found the floats to cheap to pass on. Ill send a PM

so whats better about the stock PRO coilover than holz? Is it just refinments in geomery ?

The stock Pro/Assault rear skid is basically a Holz Alpha suspension. I've had discussions with a few people about this and for whatever reason it seems to be on the down low. I had the older Holz rear on a D7 and it was great. However, I've never had as good of a rear skid as that of my '11 Pro. Don't change it. You might opt for different rear shocks although your Assault will have less bottoming out than the Pro does.

I would agree to all the above. I installed the Timbersled skid in my turbo Pro Assault and will be switching back to the stock Assault skid this year. The stock skid handles the ski lift much better.

Dave,

Good to talk to you.

I've ridden your exact setup on an '11 Assault with the turbo setup at 9 lbs this spring in "Hero" snow (excellent traction). With excellent control on ski lift and ride quality.

I'll see if I can get you some help to get the Mtn Tamer adjusted for your PRO.

Revalving is a must for guys my size probably even on Assault shocks . So I will do that and maybe ice age rail kit

I just threw the 2010 holz dragon skid in my 11 pro.it was very similar to the pros stock skid, just a couple of bolt holes are in different spots. My silber kit is also on order.I hope it works!

What is the purpose of buying the Ice Age Rails? Are you changing track size?

for the sake of argument what shock upgrade offerings are out there?

For arguments sake? Hehehe
Evol's vs Exit's

There are four major options. Fox Floats, Exits and Raptors (in different flavors) and also revalving your stock shocks through Holz, Carls or a few others.

exits all around for about 2k seems like it would be worth
trying out.

black rails just for looks !
