so lets hear the good the bad? looking to do this with mine, box needed mapping issues ect??????

I have been running them since the start of the season. They work great. I dont notice a power increase, it just gives me a piece of mind that my valves are openning when they should and equally. No servo motors, stretched cables, or adjustments to worry about. Its also a tight fit if your running twins.

Stm's

This is my third season with STM Valves, Its just like snowbound explained, "Piece of mind". I have Jaws twins on mine and there is no clearance issues with these pipes. The kit comes with a little black box you plug in where the servo use to and that's it for the computer part. If you have a different set up than stock you will have to get the spring kit with the valves so you can tune the valves to the right tension for when they open. This is a great mod!

STM Valves - great product.

I have a set on my 07 M1K, and a set on wifey's 08 M8. No mapping changes, power is more linear (smoother delivery) Haven't found a downside yet. No broken or misadjusted APV cables, no servo motor failures, better exhaust clearance...you get the idea. They cost a few bucks, but well worth it, especially in the backcountry. This is my 4th season using them on the M1, 3rd season on the M8.

Peace of mind...

I'm a big believer in the KISS rule (Keep It Simple Stupid!). By installing the STM valves, I feel that the power delivery is more linear (smoother) as the valves open progressively with exhaust pressure. You can set the opening pressure with spring rates and preload adjusters, sync the valves to each other, and forget about them. No more stretched or misadjusted / broken cables, no servo motor failures, easier to work on, added pipe clearance, and peace of mind. Are they worth the $$$? In my case, definitely.

anyone have any hook ups for the stm valves? when i was at a local snowshow in october, they were offering 20% off retail. in this case that would save about 100.00 on a set of these for the m8. that would make them worth it. KISS principle is the only way to fly. ski
