Stiffy's next gen running board insert 04-07 Rev

Well, after two seasons and two generations of inserts, we determined that any horizontal surface greater than 1/2" wide will collect snow and ice on those deep but slightly warm days. This year we pushed the design to the limit for the hardcore mountain rider and ended up with a stronger stiffer product. No more having to try to clear ANY snow buildup. The rails are MUCH stiffer and are 3/4" square BAR stock, not tube. The cross treads are 1/4" width by 3/4" height with 1/4" flat top teeth and they do not retain any snow or ice.

However, they take a little more work and cutting to install so these are not for the timid but the install can be done in about an hour. Pricing is higher than last year at $240 because of the welding required on the cross treads but you will agree once you try them that they work better than any out there and will have no sag for a typical 230lb XL rider. Powder coating is available for an extra $50 in a few different colors.

Let me know what you all think....

looks sweet... almost looks like the toe of your boot could get caught in between the supports..

My first thought as well, looks like a broken ankle/knee/leg waiting to happen. I can't bring myself to cut apart my running boards, it just seems wrong.

wow they look nice. if i could aford them i would get them. it looks that way, but my buddy built his own tube frame chassis and the bars where about that far apart and they felt weird under your feet but there want really a way to get your feet caught in there. they worked good on his set up.

My wife wears a size 7 woman's and her boots will not go through but if your smaller than that these wouldn't work for you. As far as cutting your running boards, have good traction with good set of inserts increases your confidence by so much you really see an improvement in your riding. If your a trail rider or field racer it wouldn't be worth it but for those steep technical mountain rides where you either make the move or are toast there is no substitute for traction and confidence.

I've got a set of XXX boards sitting here waiting, even got a hole saw for the corners to make a smooth cut. Just can't bring myself to do it yet. I'm new to the rev chassis, never had an issue on the ZX and so far haven't had an issue on the REV.

And I am by no means a trail rider, we'll see what happens.

Good looking boards either way!

Quit being a wuss and put em in...you WILL NOT regret it!

I like the new design of the treads. With those bars you could definitely add several more and the snow would still easily fall thru and not build up. But I think that would add labor and $ right? Also, what's up with the rail? When I'm sidehilling I spend quite a bit of time standing on the rail and need good traction.
