Stiffer front track spring...Where to get?

Long time lurker here looking to get my REV into shape for this winter. The previous winter, I had some really funky handling problems with it and we believe it is due to an overly soft front track spring/shock setup. Steering is very heavy and the sled is a lot of work to handle in general. (hard to get it on ski, it rolls over "all at once" etc) Anybody have any suggestions on what to do? I'd like to just replace my front track spring with something heavier but unsure what/where to order from.

I've also got excessive bottoming problems coming from my rear track shock even with the preload turned all the way up. Spring fatigue? I'm leaning toward damper problems...

Thoughts!?

Thanks in advance!

How tight is your limiter? What front shocks are you running? Are they longer than stock or set way stiff?

I would pull the rear shocks out and see how they feel, might be time for e rebuild.

Might seem silly but have you adjusted the preload on the front skid shock?

My summit started handling bad one day and it had turned out to be the cast adjuster on the front skid shock had broke and fell off and it rode much as you describe, but I would tear it down and make sure everything is in good working order before I start throwing parts at it.

Also what kind of miles are on the sled and what is the rider weight?

First, thank you for the reply.

Second, yes I've messed with the preload on the front skid shock and played with the limiter a fair amount. I've also played with the front shocks as well, adding preload/removing preload...although some adjustments might help a *little* bit it's far from how my buddies summits feel.

I realize this is a stupid question but what exactly are you referring to when you are talking about the cast adjuster?

Mileage is around 3k. Rider weight is about 200. All suspension stock (800x) Sway bar removed.

800x might have a threaded adjuster for the preload on the front skid shock.

I have a base model and my shock uses a notched adjuster that you turn to adjust preload. Mine was gone and there was basicly no preload from the spring with the adjuster missing.

Ahh! Yes, that is what I thought you were referring to.

Indeed, mine is threaded and I know the "collar" (that's what I call it) is intact.

Really, I think just going to a stiffer spring rate overall would solve most of my problems.

What should my limiter be set to btw?

Well the longer the strap is set the lighter the ski pressure. Ski shock preload and rear skid preload will also affect the ski pressure.

Heavy preload in the center, long strap, weak preload on the front and rear makes for the lightest ski pressure possible.

Let the limiter out, firm up that front shock adjustment a bit, soften the ski springs (without the swaybar they are typically TOO soft and most guys go with stiffer springs when they lose the swaybar).
Don't run the rear spring blocks too tight.
The Rev chassis should be pretty easy to throw around like this....I have never heard of anyone saying otherwise, usually they are considered TOO light in the front, wheelie TOO much.
