Sticky stuff

Hey dose anyone out there have any ideas on how to remove the gluey residue after stripping a hood rap kit? Im Thinking it was a 3m control tac product,it was super hard to heat and remove but now I'm left with this super gooey stuff left on my tunnel. Iv tried brake clean, gas, turpentine...it's on the tunnel so I'm hoping there is something that will help wipe this off.

Difficult Residue

If you have'nt got the residue off yet there is a product from glasurit that will take it off. It's number is 360-4 and it is a metal cleaner we use for cleaning bare metal for paint prep. This stuff is aggresive so do not get it on any plastic or paint, just spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off. It's not cheap should be around 60 for a gallon and you can get it at your local part-paint supplier, parts plus sells glasurit around this area. It may be more then you want to spend but it will take care of it. I have also had good luck with a decent laquer thinner, soak a rag and sit it on the area for 5-10, then use a plastic bondo spreader to scrape the melted residue up.

The title had me thinking this thread was gonna be about a safety break.

Major disappointment.

Do not use in the bedroom...

Our local supply store gave me a 3m type of sticker/glue remover to try, not that affective to say the least. Several applications later followed with brake clean and a lot of scraping/wipping to wash it off.
Not sure what the heck that sticky stuff was made of but one thing for sure is to not use it in the bedroom!
