When does the season usually start up there?? were planing a trip up the in November, safe bet? Any advice on where to stay n'stuff ?

I was just up there, spoke with a guy and i was thinking November as well but i guess at that time of year you really have to watch for rocks and stuff. I am not to sure how if you have been there or not but you should wait until there is a good base at least 10 ft and make sure you check the weather network and it calls for good weather or you may get up there and not be able to see good enough to ride at all. He suggested to come up sometime in January or Febuary which is fine by me after seeing the terrain, but you never know what this winter will bring as far as early snowfalls. I would make sure you are well prepared for this trip as far as having all the right gear and avy education, other than that i can't wait to go but it may be a spur of the moment decision of exactly when the weather will permit, i am thinking now sometime in January when there is some sunny days in the forecast about five of them, i would hate to not see all the beauty that place has to see i am anxious to ride as well but i will be well prepared for this trip. Hope that helps a bit!!!

a group of us are planning a end of november begining of dec trip should be pretty decent. We there in June and had a blast well worth the drive. King Edward.. hotel, motel. Peace

I was there last year on Nov 9th for a week and conditions where o.k, but thinking if we would have waited a couple more weeks, even 10 days, the weather would be more stable. Hit and miss. a week before we were there it was dumping. Then it rained for a week then it dumped when we were there. It's a long trip, so you better make sure your willing to ride hard while your there. Fun place to ride. Thinking about doing it again this year.:beer; We stayed with dave at the lodge, but as said before, the lodge sold. The King Edward is great cause you can hook up with other riders while grabbing breakfast in the morning in the dinner on the bottom floor.

Looks like its go time up there 6 ft and snowing hard at the cabin, looks like they are going to get a fair bit more in the next couple weeks. I want to go up Dec 12 weekend if anyone else is going up that weekend pm me, i wouldn't mind hooking up with some other riders that have maybe rode there before, i have been to Stewart lots but this will be the first time sledding and some guidance would be nice considering the terrain. thx
