Stewart Bc trip

thanks for the info luke t D
I have also heard the drive from terrace is spectacular. good point on the closing potential

I didn't think of the cell reception thing but it make sense as its just so remote and away from everything and anyone.

15 hours is nothing though , midwesterneers drive 15-25 just to Wyoming and driving out there its one rig after another on the highway peak season. its 35 to 40 for me by road a trip I would to plan on spending 7 to 10 days out there.

wiki says overcast most days with an occasional sun day

elevation

with the help of my old gps topo map.

most peaks are 5k , some higher up to 6 but not alot
thats PEAKs.. this is within 20 miles of stewert

We have rode Stewart for the last 5 years......always the end of April. Personally, I would not do a November trip. We have been through deep powder, pouring rain, some of the hardest snow falls I have ever experienced. We have had some trips that were socked in over 5 days of riding and other trips that were blue bird. It can be real hit or miss.

Riding elevations are typically 3500'-5000. Some mountains off Long lake or up past the Bez Glacier will get you up into the 6300-6500' range

It's a long drive, it might be the best trip of your life, but in my experience going there a lot of the time it's like any other mountain trip.....you just never know. We have spent days in the hotel room because of socked in pouring rain. We have also spent a 2-1/2 day stretch in town because the power to town went out(could not get fuel).

With all that being said, you know where I will be heading this coming April.....ImageUploadedByTapatalk1440569710.036661.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1440569800.340554.jpg

It appears as though there may be enough interest to fill up a truck or two for a trip this year! Now for the hard part... Getting the weather to cooperate! I know November is not the best time to go to Stewart but there really isn't anywhere in the states or Canada that gets to brag on their November riding year after year. The good part is there is always somewhere that has really deep snow that time of year if a guy is willing to travel! Maybe it's Stewart this year or maybe it's not

Other than last season, we have gone to Revelstoke on Remembrance day weekend every year and seldom are disappointed. (November 11th).

Hotels rates are usually discounted till December too.

Conditions are "early" and some scoff at snear, saying "you will be buying A-Arms" but this has never happened to us for that weekend.

That's where I've been the last two years in nov. And it's been great riding!!!

All the mountain tops got some termination dust in Juneau last night. It's a good sign this early in the year.

Then again, we had a good base going last year until about mid December. Then it all went to hell.
