Stevens pass?

I bet the ski area has plenty of snow to ride, but don't you have to enter from the lower-elevation cross-country entrance and work your way to the ski area from there?

If there are other places to ride at/near stevens, please voice up.. I'm somewhat new to riding there anyways.

we ride Stevens in spring after they close, you can only ride the backside and have to ride in from the east side nordic center.

I Too am curious if its a go or not this time of year before they open?

also, i wouldn't count them out on opening by the weekend. they have a 20" base already with more to come.

Thats true, my buddy just said we'd ride the backside (via mill valley), as the front is not an option (didnt know). im gonna check the forecast now and see what were in for.

call the Wenatchee Ranger's and see if its even legal right now, there will be plenty of Snow!

Access to the backside of Stevens is used as the Nordic center access until April 13th ish when the ski area is closed, then it's all ours. Probably just cause problems with the click clicks by trying to use their trail. If you're looking for places to ride near Stevens, you can try Tonga Ridge just east of Skykomish, or Smithbrook about two miles east of Stevens ski area in the west bound lanes, mostly road riding, but it's riding. Should be plenty of snow to do that, maybe enough to get your first stuck. :face-icon-small-sho

The last day to "legally" ride Stevens Pass ski area or backside/nordic center is 11/15 aka tomorrow. Sucks, its pretty rare to ride there this early although we did last year. Smithbrook Rd is the best bet on 2 but its not going to be better than GC in a few days.:face-icon-small-win

Now the ultimate question is... Do I ride Stevens, OR...

Wednesday: Snow. High near 21. South wind around 9 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 11 to 17 inches possible.

Wednesday Night: Snow, mainly before 4am. Low around 19. Breezy, with a southwest wind between 15 and 23 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

We went last weekend (Saturday at Yodelin not a lot of extreme riding, but a ton of fun with friends, and Sunday at Nordic Center), it was mass wet snow on Sunday there, a good 3 ft my boyfriend got stuck in on my sled in mill valley not even halfway up. Make sure there's good snow, otherwise it's super gnarly and dangerous. We didn't have a problem, only one other dude was sledding with a trail sled and they were just using it to ski. (It was their first time ever on a sled, they were cute). But yeah, the front side you'll get yelled at so don't do it. The backside is A-Okay.

I'll be up there this weekend! Only at orientation, because when I'm not sledding..I'm terrain park crew at Stevens this year. So I guess I get the best of both extreme worlds?

Also, we went to Snoqualmie last night to test out my new sled (it rips!) and also for our 9 months, and it was snowing SO much and was all fresh and perfect. Good times!
