Steering Post Swap issue, diameter different

I started swapping out my bent steering post for a Fabcraft post I bought from a forum member and everything fits perfectly except the Fabcraft post is a bigger diameter than the stock post, the Fabcraft is one inch and the stock is 7/8. The plastic bushing caps won't go around the post so the aluminum mounts on the cross bar wont tighten aall the way. I am certain it is a 1M post because all the mounts, bolt holes and the bushing locating rings are all in the right place.

Has anyone ran into this before or know what the fix is? Of course I will call Fabcraft tomorrow but figured someone on here would know the fix.

Fabcraft has different plastic inserts for their posts and are sending them to me.

Customer service was excellent at Fabcraft even though I bought the post used.
