Steering post is hitting oil tank

I hit a stump on my spindle causing my lower a-arm to bend. Now my steering post contacts the oil reserve tank when I turn left. Do I have to pull the motor to get to the lower mount of the steering post? Could I really have bent the steering post? I don't see any other reason it would make contact with the oil tank unless it is bent.

Post

What sled? When I bought my Dragon, it was doing that too. Ended up replacing the post and hoop. Hoop was the actual problem. On the dragon, the post just inserts into the bushing at the bottom. I was able to remove the bolt in the steering rod that goes under the motor and just lift out the post after removing the top mount. Dropped the new one in and bolted the rod back on.

Hoop was whole different bag of problems. It rivets to a couple of plates next to the side of the gas tank and bolts to the tunnel and running boards. Took the tank loose and slid it back. Getting the rivets to line up and the bolts through the tunnel was a real pain. Hoop was bent under the tank cowling and kind of hard to see. Give away was the post was not centered in the hole in the cowling. Big gap at the back and almost none at the front.

I checked everything over today. My steering post and hoop do not appear to be bent or out of shape in any way. Has anyone else out there noticed this on the iq chassis?
