Steel dreams / lifestyles honda ...

Big thanks to these guys. I've been searching for a dealer who could help me with my Skidoo 1000, and after talking to most of the dealers in the area and getting some pretty interesting results I hauled my sled up there this morning and they were more then friendly with me. They made time for me in a busy day and on top of it the cost was good to, fast, quiality work.

120 miles, from here to there but it was worth it and just had to throw out some props for these guys. Can't wait to ride this thing this weekend with the new map loaded on the ECU.

I'll take my bussiness there again.

glad to hear you had a positive experiance. What was the sled in there for?

It is good to hear that your experiance was different than the nightmares that i had to deal with at the Former Steel Your Dreams. Hence why I went to Polaris.

ALSO..on that note Forest and Dan at Skagit Polaris have been doing a great job...no that would be a lie...they have done an Outstanding job that exceded all expectations!...some of the best for a dealer that I have seen on our different Polaris sleds in a 4 state area.

Next best i have ever seen was the dealer in McCall Idaho who also would go above and beyond.

Now if only the name was changed from Lifestyles to something a bit more exciting. Lifestyles sounds like a condom brand or a kitchen store.

cheers,

My sled is an 05 Summit 1000 ... one of skidoo's biggest blunders of all time. However with some work it can be one the hardest running stock sleds out there but skidoo did not offer a good fuel map until 2007 in there middle altitude offering ( 4-8,000 ft if I recall ) so I wanted to have my 05 updated to the new map for the vastly improved fuel curve as well as an updated way of using sensor data ( new algorithm ) to prevent the computer from falsely going into limp mode. Also the new map provides a leaner over curve ... the 05 map would leave a black streak of unburnt fuel in the snow when ever you jumped on the throttle hard.

The old map also was a plug fouling nightmare on cold starts... and that big motor is no fun to pull on when it's cranky.

These guys came recomended for work on the 1000's, I had a very "needy" time line to work with and they were able to get me in ( next day ) and update my map and had me out the door , well I'm not even sure they were open by the time I left. I was never given a price and wen it came time to ring it up it was half what other dealers told me they would charge me.

Since this was never included as a warranty update many dealers simply don't know what needs to be done, it takes a dealer who has worked with these sleds to know what needs to be done.

Long winded but I'm the guy who always gets hosed at the dealer, so when I do get good service I make sure and let people know.

Only bad part is that it was a blue bird day, I was out of the shop by 9:00 and I did not bring any riding gear:face-icon-small-fro it would have been a nice day to hit baker for a few hours, I'm sure someone would have let me tag along with there group.

Mark is the man up there---he learned alot on my 1000--LOL

That is the best of the programs offered--the mid elevation program--I tried the high elevation program up at Whistler and was not to impressed--I went back to the mid altitude program.
I am not as far away as you--but Renton and it has ALWAYS been worth my while to drive up to them--since 05 I have been dealing with them and never a issue--always dealt with me honest and fair!!!

If you have any questions about your 1000--just let me know--I will help ya where I can.
