Im heading out to Steamboat Lake on 12-26, just seeing if anyone has any updates on conditions from the weekend? Long trip from Iowa for poor snow.

Heading to vail pass area from WI in 11 hours. From what i can gather the snow is deep and the avalanche danger is high. Have fun Ride safe. Rick

Snowed hard all day on the 22nd, got around a foot near SLO, and a foot and half in Big Red Park. Ski area reported 22". Couldn't find anyone to sled with on the 23rd, would have been an awesome powder day. Still no base in many area's, so watch for rocks and stumps. Down at the lower elevations (like around SLO and the lake) it has been windblown and the sage brush is still showing. Another storm is brewing as we speak.

Sled Registration

I am coming to Steamboat on 12/26 from out of state. Does anyone know if we need to register our sleds? If so where can we get registration stickers?

Yes you need to register for colorado. The sled dealers in town should have registrations to purchase.

If you ride north of steamboat lake to wy you will need a wy sticker also. They sell them at steamboat lake outfitters last I knew.

We are headed up to Steamboat Lake tomorrow too. We are coming in from Michigan. Our sleds are already there.

We went there for a few days last year and it was awesome, I hope the snow is as good this time around. We are planning on heading south into the snow after a few days in Steamboat.

Looks like the southern part of the state has all the snow.

Your right all the snow is south. Why waste your time up here? Maybe see you tomorrow if you are riding north of the lake.

I've got an XP 163 too and just got it back from the shop, hoping the clutching is finally fixed. Would like to see your setup.

Rode today and there was some fresh snow. It was hard to see in the flat light and snow.
