STD RMK shock upgrade

Hi
Thinking of getting a 2011 STD RMK but worried of rear skid shock quality? What options are available for à shock/spring upgrade in the rear? Reason for choosing STD is of course the more beefed up cooling as I run à lot late season. Also thinking of widening the front some for more stability as i can easily handle the wider stance in the loose and i think the benefits Will be large

I am also curious to see what people say. I ordered an RMK rather then a pro and am looking at doing a full Zbros front and rear. Anybody have experience with them on this sled? Worth the coin?

The Fox setup that Carls Cycle has to offer works really well. I am sure others will chime in and agree as well. Give them a call 208-853-5550. Ask for Timmy in parts.

Agreed, the Fox set-up that Carls and Holz offer is amazing. Having that Evol-R in the rear track shock allows you to fine tune the stiffness (compression) for any rider weight. Plus you also have the additional bottom-out resistance that is adjustable, as well as adjustable rebound.

Also the front track shock that kit comes with is a super rugged Zero Pro and stands up to just about anything.

Well, I've been riding Pro 163's lately and I will tell you that they are the worst trail bump sled I've ever felt. Now that being said, I don't think either of my buddies adjusted their shocks for rebound or compression. I traded my other buddy and rode his base rmk 155" for the rest of the day and down the same trail and all I can say is that it felt SO much better on the bumps. I also really liked the shorter track while on the mountain...just more fun to throw around and climbs just as well.

I snowchecked a rmk 155" and was thinking the same thing but after Friday's ride I think I'm going to leave the cheapies on there and just ride it.

My $.02

Rode my standard rmk all year with stock shocks and had no problems, one buddy has a pro and liked it alot better then his and another buddy had a assault and felt maybe a little better then mine, I don't think the up graded shocks are worth it but then I ride very little trail.
