Std 800 vs Pro 800

So most of what i have read on here is about the Pro 800. Anybody have the std. 2011 800 rmk? Same chassis, just cheap shocks, old style bars, extra tunnel cooler, more idler wheels, etc. Any feedback on these? These seem more suited for me so just curious if there as good as the PRO version or if the added weight makes them more on par with last years IQ chassis

Its still only like 440lbs... It should smoke the dragons from last year because it still has all new perks of the pro (suspension/chassis ect...) I'll know more about them this weekend, my dad is pickin one up tomorrow :face-icon-small-coo

Rmk 800 PRo Chassis

I rode my father in laws for a week and was amazed how well it handled. I am not a polaris guy. The power was good and the sled was very "flickable" I would have to say the shocks felt cheap though. It did also feel VERY light.

I got one buddies have pro's and assualts I like mine more the the pro's for ride but the assualts shocks kick ***!!!You don't notice the little extra weight at all and i don't have to worry as much about over heating will run 5 to 10 degrees cooler the the pro's if going on hard pack. I like have the extra bogie wheels.

I have the standard 2011 RMK in Silver.. came from a 2008 700 Dragon, no comparison, I am not a fan of pro tapers and hated the walker evans on my dragon.. so it was an easy choice for me..

The nine pounds difference between the pro and standard wasn't a big deal for me, and I don't feel like the guys on the pro's are going anywhere that I can't.

Can't wait for a 600 version for the wifey

I see one reply stated that the temperature difference between the pro and standard on hard pack was only 5-10 degrees. Anyone else with temperature numbers riding the pro or standard on hard pack? Of course i dont ride hard pack often at all or I wouldnt buy RMKs but unfortunately I have to sometimes and was just a little worried about the Pro's cooling capacity.

I ride hard packed groomed trails 70% of the time in central N.Y. and my pro rmk 800 run's 150 and with scratchers down run's 125 all day on any snow condition's! Pro Rmk is light and nasty all my friends ask why the rmk? I say why not!!!

Glad to hear that the scratchers are keeping the temps down. How has your pro been running at low elevations? I am at about 1500 feet, selling the 07 rmk 660 for a new pro. Any stumbling or bog like others have been having or did you get a good one?
