Stator or Regulator

Thiis is my sons sled and I am totally stumped with this electrical problem and in dire need of some help here. This is what I have done and tested so far.
DC output from Regulator disconnected
Battery connected to the chassis wiring I get lights and all works and unit starts. When running like this I get 0 DC voltage at regulator output
When I check for AC voltage at the stator wires with regulator connected I get no voltage when I check it with the regulator disconnected I get 15 to 45VAC on all 3 stator wires to ground and double that between the yellow wires. Stator resistances all test as per manual. I bought a new regulator (jobber one for $40) and get same results. Is it possible to get a new bad voltage regulator? Could it be a stator that cant carry the current? I hate to spend more money on things that don’t fix this thing.
Does anybody near Saskatoon have a regulator I could try and then buy if that is my problem?
Oh I have checked all the wiring had the stator out twice looking for rubbed wires (had that problem last year)
Checked hood wiring connections and all is good like I say everything works when I connect a battery to it so the wiring is OK.

Sled year/model may be helpful to post up.

But, I'm assuming you have a newer 700 or 800 with a bad voltage regulator. And yes, it is possible that you have a bad VR although new, but more than likely your VR went out, also taking your ECU out, which may be causing you problems.

Traced it down to the regulator I had 2. 1 was the existing stock one and 1 was a new jobber one. for some reason the existing one decided to work. Switch it out to the new jobber one and no start. Put the existing one in and now it works. I hate these intermittant electrical issues. I will get a Polaris regulator to hell with the jobber one.
