Starting to get fed up with 2 strokes, fill me in

i've been out 4-5 times on my mod and have blown the motor twice.
-Are the nytros having any problems?
- how high can boost be taking on pump gas?
- how do they do in tree riding?
- and what are your preferences turbo or SC
thanks for your input

The only problem with the Nytro is weak front subframe, not a big deal you a can reinforce that. If you install a head shim you could run 10 or 12 pounds of boost on pump depending on elevation, I play on the safe side and just run av-gas. Nytros are great in the trees and for boondocking. I have a turbo and prefer turbos' to superchargers, just my opinion. I was also fed up with burning oil, belts, and engines.

Research

Look at all of the advantages 4 strokes have over 2 strokes. Then look at all of the 4 stroke experience Yamaha has over all the other companies. I think you'll agree that a Nytro, or any Yamaha 4 stroke snowmobile is the way to go.

Just rode nicks mcx nytro from vernon motor sports and i was pretty impressed. no lag, and makes my t-vec look slow. love the way the ergonomics feel too, really easy sled to ride imo.

new nitro owner

still have my 2 stroke, bought a nitro with super-charger, stage 2, ive only been to the mountains once and played around home a bit, but i already know i'll never own another 2 stroke, just turn the key and hold on.

handles great, sidehill like crazy, has no heavy feeling like i was expecting, if your into modded 2 strokes like i was, this is for you. luv my sc, but lots of guys love the mcx, but you will love either. the bugs are out of the sc's now, so dont be afraid. throw a leg over a buddy's nitro or apex, they are very different sleds, and also, it took me about 100 k of riding to really get used to the power and feel, at first it felt tippy, now you put it where u want it. things i hate, the track sucksss, and with the boost, need a 162, its on order. my handwarmers are terrible but their going to fix em. and oh yeah, its a cold sled to ride, pretty open. ok, i guess i dont hate a whole bunch about it. never thought i'd buy a yami, but grateful the other dealership is bad to deal with which forced me to go blue and with a great dealership.

good luck

Just spend the money and have a Nytro built. I have never ridden a Nytro and I pick mine up this week.:D Cant wait. The 2 stroker was fun, but a PITA. Hope the new Nytro with MCX is as fun as it looks.

Don't believe anything you read. Find someone in your area who rides one and go try it. Then make your decision. Or just buy one and hope that all the people on the Yamaha forum are right and all the people on the Doo forum are wrong? Hell its only $9,000.00 (for a stock one).

My 1st 4 strk after building a few solid running 2 strokes and love turning the key and riding instead of f***ing around with it:D Of the 3 I ride 2 have boosted M's and the other a sweet 800 rmk with Nos. I'll give the 800 credit, he pulls the rope and goes. The boosters fiddle alot and one hasn't got it dialed in yet. Still have to kill some time but it's NOT messing with mine. The ride is taking a little to get used to but it's well worth it. They've ridden mine and one has begun investigating the dark side......:)

The lightweight work is done. Now for boost baby!

- every sled can have problems ,agree? some more some less.
- depends on how much cash you spend on the motor, rods pistons or just head shim. "what kit you go with"
- how good of a ridder are you ? people always ask if a turbo yamaha can go in the trees ? well not if your a sh!tty rider !
-Turbos are what ive seen work the best.
Try one for your self and make up your own mind. If you can, try a apex and a nitro. Talk to people that have diffrent kits as well make up your own mind, you might like it or hate it. If your from bc go to the alpine ride you will see them all there.
