Starter wiring

Went riding Saturday and had no problems, went to start sled today and when I turned the key nothing, nothing on the dash and of course no starter. Figured maybe somehow I left the key on so pulled the seat and have 12.5 volts at the battery and to the terminal where it attaches to the starter solenoid. Checked the battery fuse and it was good but only have 1 volt there. Tried to find a wiring diagram online I could actually read but no luck. There are 4 wires at the starter solenoid. 2 larger gauge wires, one from the battery to the solenoid, the other larger gauge wire I assume goes from the solenoid to the starter. The smallest gauge wire I guess would be the exciter wire from the key switch to the solenoid to tell it to send power to the starter when the key is turned to the start position. The final wire I assume is 12v power for the dash when key is in the on position which would run through the battery fuse. Ran out of time to work on it but will be going out in the morning, figure I would jump the solenoid and see if I can get the starter to crank, this will let me know the battery is good for sure. Then I figure I would check continuity between the fuse block and the larger of the 2 smaller wires. My thought is the the connector on the solenoid where the larger wire of the smaller 2 is connected should always be hot and isn't or isn't giving enough power to the fuse block to power the system. Starts and runs fine when you pull the rope. Anyone know for sure which wires are which?
