Stand Alone ECU

Has any one played with the Micro Squirt programable ecu. They say compatible with 2 stroke. Are there any companies have arctic cat programs like 900 efi.

Been wondering about this as well. My brother runs a Megasquirt on his car (turbo BMW), and it was quite a bit of work. I imagine the tuning program is the same or similar for the micro. Last I looked into it (year ago maybe) I couldn't find any good info for anyone running it on a sled.

You would basically be writing the whole basemap yourself. Then hope it's good enough that you can drive it without blowing it up so you could datalog it and tune it further.

In the car, we would drive around with a laptop and keep tweaking/reflashing it. Might be quite a process with a sled if you weren't doing it on a dyno.

Working on the Vi-pec stand alone for the pro RMK right now. Pretty cool to have all the efi functions right at your finger tips.

Sweet...I haven't talked to anyone who has used the Vi-pec. Have you used it on anything before? Interested in how it compares to using Megasquirt...seems like it would be more user friendly.

I have thought about using a microsquirt for a sled before, but the lack of people using it on 2 strokes and the sheer amount of time it would take to get it setup and running right (for me anyway) turned me off.

There are a few 4 stroke yammies that have sucessfully ran the vi pec setup for a few years now
