Sta bil?

Is it ok to regularly use Sta bil Marine Formula in a sled during the riding season? I use the regular stuff for sumer storage. Any other recommended fuel additives?

Yes, ok to use marine formula while in use. In fact, recommended. Not really necessary if running ethanol free fuel, but all gas goes bad within 15-30 days if not treated with some form of fuel stabilizer. GAS-RX by Enertech Labs is a very good fuel stabilizer too. Claim to aid in water separation and alcohol treatment very well. As a marine and small engine tech, I always use fuel stabilizer. See fuel system problems everyday due to untreated gas.:face-icon-small-coo

Thanks! That's what I thought. They "oxygenate" the gas here in the winter, I'm sure there's ethanol in it too. What happened to the days when gas didn't have a bunch of crap in it?

The good stuff is almost extinct. Find an E free gas station and start giving them your business filling up the sleds! Typically gas stations that are run by local oil distributors or Farm Supply/Co ops have eth free gas.

I use Seafoam rather than Stabil for storage of anything gas powered in hte off seasons. During snomobile season I don't worry about treating the fuel unless the sleds are going to sit for a month or more without being used.

I too have seen/experienced the effects of bad/old/varnished/low octane gas on many occasions. Any treatment is cheap insurance whether it be Stabil, Startron or Seafoam.
