Springtime Nevada Thread For Cheap Folk

I had posted in some other sections that the road in Lamoille Canyon was opened to the turnaround, It really was until the snowfall of this last week. There is now a 20' deep by 200' wide avalanche that came across the road about 3.5 miles from the turnaround. I hope NDOT makes another attempt to open the road, if they don't, access to the snow is going to be a real problem real soon. Great ride today with my son, couple feet of fresh.

I went up the canyon for a late afternoon ride today, nobody has moved the avalanche. We didn't have any problem riding snow all the way to the turnaround. Looking ahead at the forecast I'm guessing that you won't have to ride much asphalt next weekend either. As far as June 5th goes, we'll just have to wait and see if any agency digs through the slide. Crazy ride today, we pulled several steep chutes, ski tracks were few and far between. Love That Spring Snow

I left the camera at home today Jay. I should have taken it, wicked steep long wheelied pulls. Stupid Fun!! The sled was working perfectly, I was kicking Christophers rear all over the mountain, usually it's just the opposite.

Joe, I'll be riding either Saturday or Sunday if the weather permits. I'll be up around 9:00 if we have sunshine. I'll keep an eye out for you. The mountain peaks must have fallen well below freezing last Sunday, serious loss of traction at about 10,000. Great traction at lower elevations though, hopefully the mountain will mush up a bit.

I think this weekend you will still be able to find snow past the Avalanche, but June 5th will be difficult if nobody moves it out of the way.

Isn't there a good samaritan clause that protects against litigation when unforeseen stuff like an incident of road rash crops up.
What a great ride!! I had more fun Sunday morning than I've had in quite some time. That was near perfect sierra cement in my book. I sure hope somebody moves the slide. I think we'd have another couple weekends of riding.

As exciting as the jumps and climbs are, I caught myself looking past the snow flying to the scenery in the background. Man I love that mountain.

We had a great time Sunday and Monday. Posted a few pics on westcoastsledders. Got back home tired, a bit sun burnt, but grinning from ear to ear!

Hey Tony... its all good! Im just keeping "tabs" for next season. (dont worry... Scotty's name is at the top) After the "turbos" left, found myself riding a lil' harder instead of sittin round watchin'. (haven't made this lil' chute yet)... the M7 tried to "squeeze" by and spun out on the rock. Rolled it down two or so times... was a cool video!

Sounds like a "date" there Tabasco! Only by then I'll have the M8 if not the 900. Worked on her yesterday and am ready to drop the motor in this week! Gonna go "snoopin" up the canyon today, see if shes got one last ride in her...
