looking to buy one or the other. if anyone has one or the other please chime in or has both the please fill free to share. leaning towards the glock since my trainer shoot competition and shoot glocks.

Springfield. Closer attention to detail and will in the end outlast the glock. Ive also found the springfield to be more accurate.

But...its not which one is better on paper, its which one you feel most comfterble shooting. If your not comfterble shooting the most accurate gun in the world it wont be accurate. Just what I have found in the business.....

For me, the xd was the most comfortable, very reliable, pretty accurate as well, not as good as my match 1911, but not a lot of pistols are! Never had any issues with the xd, but you may find the glock fits better, like what Nate said.

my brother has the glock and he likes it alot. i've shot it and like it too, but i found that i like the xd a lot better. it fits my hand a lot better than the glock. therefore as nate said get the one your most comfortable with.

My xd-40 needs cleaned but i'll shoot another box through it just to see if it hangs up! I doesnt matter if i shoot it clean or dirty it works great, im very happy with it! I was a wheel gun guy for the reliability factor but i swear my xd is that reliable!!:D

I love my xd, If I would recommend one to everyone I know., You check out the new XD-m's yet? Havn't shot one but they have a large capacity. I have the XD service model (4") and it carries pretty good in a regular IWB holster.

The XDm also has a interchangable grip and matched barrel.

Gonna be hard to beat the original XD though. I love mine. Very reliable, accurate and easy to shoot. Never owned a glock though for comparison. To be on the safe side you should just buy both.:face-icon-small-win

Another vote for the XD series.
I own an XD-45 and I was so impressed with it that I bought an XD-9 for the wife to shot. I didn't buy it for her, it's mine, I just let her shoot it!
Exceptional quality and reliability.
Go to a range where they'll let you try both and see which one you prefer.
Just by having both of them (XD and Glock) on a table in front of me I was able to decide pretty quickly which one I liked better.
Pick them each up and point it at a target without thinking about what you're doing (unloaded of course!) and you'll notice that you'll be on target with the XD and aiming high with the Glock.
That's the difference in the angle of the grip to the barrel.
The XD is more "Intuitive" than the glock...more like reaching out and pointing your finger at the target.
Zat make sense to ya? !!!:D

Either way, buy lots of ammo for when the attack of the flying monkey people begins.:D:D

In all honesty I like the Glock, but you need to go to a range that will let you rent/borrow both of them to shoot.

Make your own decision.

Got a xd in .40 for my wife about a year ago. I have shot it alot as has she and I must say it feels and shoots very well. To me it feels alot like my Sigs. Both are very good and you can't go wrong with either. If you have to think about it very long buy both. You can never have to many you know.

I personally like the Glock but you absolutely can't go wrong with either. Like Nate and the others have said shoot'em both and see what one you like best.

Not trying to further confuse you but you might want to take a look at the S&W M&P as well. Looks real nice, feels good in the hand (the grip also comes with 3 inserts to adjust it to your liking) and is supposed to be very reliable.

Shoot everything you can get your paws on before you buy. Pay special attention to sight aquisition, trigger pull, and control during the shot.
