Spring or shock

The back end of my 2005 RMk 900 is sagging, alot. Thought it might be the shock so I changed from the shock to a rebuilt Fox Clicker. Still sags. The minute I remove the sled lift it sags about 50% and if I sit on it goes almost all the way down. Do I need a different shock or do I need a new torsion spring? If I need a new spring should I go with the heavier one 7041942/43-329?

Are your torsion springs set on the highest setting? How much do you weigh?

After 7 or so seasons of riding it is time to refresh your suspension system, which includes shocks and springs. Your springs are what hold the rear of your sled up, your shocks control the compression and rebound. Which spring to go with? That depends on your weight and riding style. The stock spring is normally good for a rider around 170, which is why most of us have to go a little heavier. Here is the Polaris part number for the springs I run.

7042079-067 Spring, Torsion, LH, STD [.375/47 °]
7042080-067 Spring, Torsion, RH, STD [.375/47 °]

Based on all the info in the thread sounds like 359/47 for me? I weigh 175 and the 375/47 might be overkill?

I have only owned my 2005 RMK's for 3 months so excuse the dumb question but what do you mean by "also make sure you move the rear torque arm mounting hole back 5/8" from the center of the old hole to the center of the new hole". What piece am I moving back 5/8" ? I checked the diagram but could not see anything.

This is not 100% necessary but it will improve how the suspension works a little.

Upgrade torsion springs, while there LUBE everything and ck mounts for binding. Did you replace only one shock or both?

Replaced both. Was lazy and did it without removing the skid. Still trying to figure out if I should get the 375/47 or the 359/47 since I weigh only 170. Based on what I have read I think the 375/47 would be overkill??
