I got that e-mail today, paperwork on it's way send it back, they will extend the contract for a extra month. Or until you get your new unit..

Ditto. Good thing. Mine was not working properly at all. Red flashing on/off light with new batteries. Not sending check in messages. Good service by SPOT so getting on this so quickly.

It does seem that they are taking care of people, and providing some compensation for the inconvenience. It would be nice if some sled companies did the same. :)

I think this is why they are taking it so seriously and offering to replace every unit out there, even when it is only a select few that actually are faulty. My unit is working fine and I have no issues with the battery indicator or any other problem. However, I will definitely trade it out.

While one would like to expect that every product is perfect, the reality is that unforeseen problems happen. It is how a company deals with the issue that defines them in my mind. So far, I am impressed with the proactive response from GlobalStar.
