i prefer outer lips on the ramp myself, but several customers b!tched to no end because they tried to load sideways and cut a big chunk out of their ski's on the lips--so rather than try to make the lips "user proof" lol--i went to grooved plastic to keep the ski's on, and i get way less complaints--not saying its perfect--it just pleases the most people, which is all a manufacurer can hope to do--what do you guys think of the polished extrusions in place of the diamond plate and rails?

yep, the squeeky wheel gets the grease...dumb ***'es for not loading up the proper way...

skadi

you are not the first person to do what you described. The lips on the loading ramp are nice, but they make the 2 piece deck take up more room in the truck box. Which is more important. Me i prefer the lips on the ramp.

and no matter what deck, the ramp has to be flat on the ground or else you can have issues. And i have sent my self up on the deck and off the side with my wife howling her azz off.

you can also go to the local spray in bedliner and get some old take out bed liners and cut the middle out and create some real cheap ski glides. Also old hifax cut into stips where the track hits the deck allows your track to have something to bite in on. This prevents the cat walk that can happen loading up on decks. also a stout headache rack is usually a good thing when you load up a little to hot.

I have always thought the day wasn't over until loaded up on the deck. I have seen all kinds of carnage over the years.

X2,
BTW TIM, I resent my letter to Clearwater and nice Ram.

Thanks for the advice guys. She's cool witht eh girls cause she has 2 boys of her own the same age. And she's cool with riding too.

Man that was prime for Holman revenge....slacker, guess that's what you get from a guy who can't even cut his hair.

Decks look great Mikey.........I switched my ramp glides to these and if you have any kind of carbides left there is no way you will slide off. I've actaully had the glides line me up underway when it hit it crooked.

The slotted anchor screw holes allow the glides to expand/contract with the spring hot/cold temps. I likes 'em. EW

alrighty BB, starter is rebuilt and reinstalled (I owe yamaha a kick to the junk for making everything so close fitting) hand guards are mounted up, tire is going to the shop with me in the morning, pipe is in the freezer......again. I am green for the peak mission! I am really interested to see if I wasted 90 bux on this tire.

What a great weekend for road riding. Put over 600 miles on the Harley. Got a few buddies from the high school days to buy bikes and now we're like "Mild Hogs". Had a million laughs. Drew a map plan to many of the places we had never been to in the daylight or sober. Lots of stops that looked new to me.

Man I love this bike. I think mid-life crisis has been successfully overted.

BB, Got all the S 100 stuff for the paint, any secrets?

Ragged, Left a copy of "A Season of Life" for Zach at the Valley Barnes & Noble, just pick it up. Its a great read.

Sawyer, Why a motel, dont you just stay in a trunk in the back of Larry's van. Dont forget your latex repair kit if yer gonna be scrappin. lol

X.....Final offer, plane ticket, ride to and from airport, designated driver, and I'll have Tom put a 509 logo on one of those shirts with the muscles already built in. Flowers delivered to the Mrs. to seal the deal. Don't take that offer and i'm sending the winner of the Sawyer vs Hardass domination match to visit ya with a red rubber ball on leather head gear.

Oh ya......added the quick release tour pack to my bike, didn't look as Lawrence Welk as I thought. EW

Well Rags, you're one up on that ride. I didn't see anything upside down in a tree well.
good job sir!!

EW--my sister inherited a Vulcan 800. I got to take it (the bike not her gutter minds) for a nice little spin over the weekend. I might have to get one when the boy leaves the nest.

I picked up this V Star for a song a few weeks ago, forget about waiting for Jr. to leave the nest, call me when he leaves the room. I need 5 mins notice to be on the road and I have off all the same days as you (boss isn't an a-hole though). Know anyone who would let us into Canada??? Nothing like a good ride to the North with a big burger and vinegar on the fries eh!!!! Let me know. EW

Whoa Ragged, don't be tellin anyone I gave a gun to an apiring young Christian outdoorsman. I may want to run for office some day and you know how well clinging to guns and religion in this time of change will go over. lol.

I'm glad its worked out well for him. Nice to know that not every kid with access to a gun has evil intentions (unless your 3 point or better). Tell him not to hold his breath for Michael Moore to do a documentary on him anytime soon though.

Turbine trip went off without a hitch. Some people from shore said it looked just like we knew what we were doing. Thats as good as it gets for us. lol. I'll post some pics as soon as I get them from some of the shore folk. All my pics look like a group of scared guys in life jackets.

If it's the trials tire you won't be disappointed.

Have you frozen your pipe for dents before? I'm sporting some real nice dents and creases on the 1 2 and 5...I've just been nervous about popping them out in the freezer, I don't really want to bust a seam, so I haven't done anything about it since the bike runs fine.
