Spindle Issues?

Heard a rumor that some people were having issues with their spindles breaking or bending on the axis. Are there any first hand reports of this? I've seen all the reports about the lower A-arms but I am asking about the spindles. Anyone having problems with aftermarket A-arms with the spindles? Just wondering if that could be the new weak point with aftermarket a-arms. Thanks.

I'm not trying to replace them, just trying to determine if they are a weak point similar to the a-arms. I have not bought a sled yet.

Yes there have been some spindles breaking, I've seen one in person. Not saying it wasn't deserved, early November riding hitting stumps!

Well I would say they are not stronger than the Pro chassis but are longer on the bottom side. I believe this will make them more prone to breaking as longer it gets the more leverage on it.

I don't know for sure if the stock design is necessarily flawed... but their material is junk!
If you look at a broken one you see that it did not bend at all, it just sheared off. This is indicative of really junky aluminum material, often with porosity, which I saw first hand in the broken spindle I've seen.

We have a solution coming soon!(Should be this week) and a solution already available (our 37" off-set spindles)
All of our aluminum is ultrasonic tested to ensure the material is 100% pure and consistent through out and 100% American Made.

One must wonder just how much of these parts and materials are being sourced from China and other third world countries (without providing proper specifications and lacking QC verification) just to increase their profit margin and Screw the consumer.

F**king clueless bean counters! Quickest way to drive a good company to an early grave is give control to the accountants.

The one I saw was EXPLODED, and it looked more like sand than metal on the broken surfaces. But my bud took a hit, I watched, the ski/spindle twisted and torqued the arm so that it bent front and rear. Spindle is fine. I think Polaris sourced some bad parts.

Spindels should be made from either 7075 or 7076 billet, then hard anodized....no more breakage

I believe the stock spindles are an extrusion......I doubt they are machined from billet like the Zollinger spindles. If my stockers break, I will be buying Zollinger stock width replacements....they look awesome!

Although we were first with offset spindles for the 12-15 Pro, we found that narrowing the AXYS is not only needed, it actually can make control much worse. We have our own solution being worked on to fix the breaking problem. We have 2 customers so far with broken spindles.

my buddy smoked a zollinger spindle yesterday on his ’15 pro. did hit a rock, but not hard enough to pitch him from the sled. it was the kind of hit, he would not have expected any damage

Check these out! The solution is here

Taking pre-orders on our website now(see signature), shipping in 1-2 weeks depending on color. Stronger & lighter than stock! Cost is even slightly less than stock as well!
