Speedwerx pipe kit, power commander needed?

I am looking to put on a Speedwerx's pipe kit and an MBRP can on my 2009 M8 SP. This mod has been recommended to me as you do not have to adjust your ECU or put on a power commander. Some clutching would be required. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Also, I like the new Boss seats and their price ($399). Does anyone know if there is any underseat storage, or is it simple the back pouch with the zippers that you can store things in?

Thanks for your help...

From what I have seen testing this pipe at 5000 feet and up. YOU DO need a fuel controller. Below that you should be OK, but I would run a controller regardless of elevation because it cleans up the power delivery so much better.

I've got the same sled and pipe/y setup with a Jaws can. Speedwerx told me that since I have a 2009 M8, you DO need to add some fuel on a fuel controller. You don't with 07/08. They gave me the settings for my boondocker box. I really like the Jaws can btw. Not that loud and really small and lightweight.

I ran a speedwerx pipe/can on my 2009 M8 last year. Even below 5000' it was way fairly lean until I put a boondocker box on it. I believe I went +12 at 7800 rpm full throttle and the plugs were light tan in color. Everything below 5000 rpm seemed fine with the stock fuel settings but once the power valves opened it seemed lean without the help of a fuel control box. My last sled was an 07 M8 and it did not need a fuel controller with the Speedwerx pipe. Interesting.

Been told all you need the controller for is to clean up the bottom end if you dont run one it will be rich.
