I noticed on the first ride of the year that the speedo wasn't working. I checked all of the connections from the gauge to the DD and everything looks OK. It appears that the 2 wires run directly from the DD to the Gauge. Does anyone know of an easy way to trouble shoot this problem? The tach is working fine.

One of the guys I ride with has the exact same problem. His started immediatley after he removed and serviced his DD. I am guessing in his case he did not get the sensor re-installed corectly or else pinched the sensor wire, but it created the same problem you have.

Sensors fail quite often. Have replaced mine twice on 06 M7.
How hard is it to change the sensor? Obviously not the best time of year to be pulling the Diamond Drive apart.
The easiest way to change the sensor is to remove the DD and change it out. You can change one out in about 1/2 hour if all goes well. Just make sure you loosen your track before trying to remove the DD. It will make it a lot easier.
