Speed Traps by State

only one in Bonneville co. ID... cops are just too damn busy making money from dui's here....(But, it is OK for the law enforcement community in Idaho Falls to steal guns from the evidence rooms;);)..just ask sldguy about that judicial fiasco.)

I live right in the middle of the one on I-80 through Elko. Maybe someone in law enforcement can enlighten me. What is the purpose of this trap other than being a money generator for the department? I can't remember the last time I saw a dog or child or transient crossing the freeway. It's rather obvious it's not there for the safety of the community. The leach who sits on the East end of that sucker, virtually every day, will nail anyone who travels by at 76 in the 65 even if you blinked and missed the sign. We had a rather horrific looking wreck approximately 2 miles East of the trap, I thought that a life threatening accident requiring lifelight and ambulances would be a good enough reason for a public servant to pull off the trap. I was wrong!!!

Not worried about speed trap as I am for sobriety checkpoints. They generally announce in the paper when they'll be out. Hardly anyone knows but if you see a port-a-pottie sitting somewhere in the afternoon, where there isn't a big construction project you got going on, you know that's where they will be later.

Cause I drink, alot, and I never have enough beer on the way home to give to all the officers! :)
