Spark plugs choices??

Just woundering what plugs everyone uses. I havent change mine in over a year and I pulled out NGK BR9ECS from my 05 800 HO.

I used br9es in my 04 rev. it calls for br9ecs but the br9es are way cheaper and worked fine.

Although, now i run br9ecs in my xp. I guess i'm more cautious with it. :)

I went looking for the Correct plug. Everyone sent me to the NGK 4677. they said that is the new number for this plug.. Can anyone verify please??

i use
NGK 5886 (Iridium BR8ECSIX) so far they're working good

they should work fine they have the C in the part it recesses the electrode diferent so you dont get detonation

the all will fire your sled and run fine unless you have a egt sensor you would probably not even know your damaging the piston until its to late

another reasoin to stay with 90 or higher octane dont want to burn until
the time is right ,, higher octane = more stable burn point

Coincidence??

I have faithfully run BR9ECS. Always, Always.
Ride before last I ran BR9ECS-5. Sled did not run as good and would not idle cold.
Last ride I ran BR9EYA. Last ride ended with a destroyed cylinder, piston, and exhaust valve.
I will never run anything but the NGK BR9ECS.

Coincidence? I would say yes.

Probably, however montanasledhead is correct about the ECS plug being designed primarily for it's ability to withstand detonation more so than the others. Of course this was back in 2001 with first series 3 800's that needed piston updates anyway. Many are running the EYA's as they seem to be better for tuning and seem to resist to fouling better than the ECS'.

The BR9ECS-5, the "5" is simply for the gapping of the plug from the factory as NGK feels that re-gapping the plug isn't rec'd. Like stated, most likely coincidence.

At one time Big John sent champion brand plugs in his TT kit, anyone try these? He claimed 2-3hp from this alone. I know when my brother got the same kit he got NGK plugs. I had an 03 800ho summit and his was an 04 800ho summit.
