Spark plugs and belt for TM-1000

I just finished my turbo M-1000 project and was curious as to which plugs you guys are finding works best with this package. M-1000 running 100LL at 8 to 9 pounds of boost. I know boost seems to be rather hard on plugs. Also, what belt are you finding works best?

All I need now is some snow! Thought I'd throw in some Christmas color to help.

Dido, just run stock plugs and change them regularly. Run the 046 belt and cycle them, also number them to keep track of them and break them in properly.

Stock plugs.

As for belt I go through about 5-6 a year, so I buy the carlisle belts (xs817), they last longer & it costs $10 to replace them.

BR9EYA. turbos usally call for a .060 gap (mine does anyway) and if the stock 046 belt isn't working try the kevlar AC belt i think it is either 060 of 062.

Nobody steps them down a heat range or two to stave off preignition? Any issues with spark blow out with a .060 gap?
I was thinking that sounded like a huge gap as well. I read that you should close up your gap a little when running a turbo. I think it suggested something like .018 gap.

The turbo article that was in Snow Tech talked about running a colder plug, because the hotter charge temp could cause a stock plug to get hot enough to cause preignition.

If you can keep enough heat in the cylinder it's always beneficial to run a colder plug on a forced induction motor. There is a line here though, because too cold and you will have fouling problems.

As for gap, .060 seems pretty extreme but .018 is REALLY tight, I'd start around .035 and then gap it down to .030 or .025 if I was experiencing blowout.

I'm planning on starting with about 6 lbs of boost, a heat range colder plug in standard copper, with a gap or around .035 and work from there.

my post was for the 060 belt not the plug gap. Im not at home to check my notes but I believe I was running .030 gap on the plug, anymore on a 2 stroke and you will possibly get blow out.
Have no idea what to do with a 4 stroke.
