Spark Plug Boot Damaged

Pulled my boot off to replace the plugs. When I pulled off one of the boots a small piece of metal with rubber around it stayed around the plug. (See Pic)

I'm assuming I need to replace the boot at this point but just want to verify. Do you unscrew the wire from the coil?
I don't want to damage more than I have too.
Also has anyone used the SLP ignition wire or what has been used as a replacement.

Thanks in advance

Yes the simply unscrew from the coil

The SLP wires work great and the kit comes with the retainers which are Definetly worth the extra few bucks

you can just replace the caps, nothing wrong with the wires. caps are cheap, unscrew the cap

x2 the caps unscrew from the wire. I always pile some dilectric grease in there before I screw the new ones on. No need to replace the wires.

Take the wire still attached to the cap and un screw the cap boot-
I would cut about 1/8 Off to allow the new cap something good to bite onto- ( Wire inside the plug comming from the coil) / as stated above^^ die grease on the top of the plug and snap it into place/ might as well do it as a pair- to save some grief later this season..
The slp wires to have an improved plug attachment that is well worth the $$ if you continue to run into issues or want a peice of mind

Thanks..

Called the dealer to just get the plug and for the '13 they said Polaris has it listed as an assembly of boot, wire & coil. On the '12 they said they have the option of just buying the boot. Anyone know if the '12 will work? I would think it would same plugs
