Spark plug alignment?

I purchased some shim washers for my spark plugs, but there was no instructions on how to set up the plug alignment.

Should I align each open notch toward the exhaust, intake, or right in the middle?

Or, did I waste my money?

I usually orient them to the north with the sled pointing east............or was that west.

Uhh...Yep!

As long as the Flux capacitor is aligned properly and is operating in sync with the Magnetron your plugs will fire correctly.

That is as long as the alignment was done during a high tide with at least a 15 mph wind coming from the North.

Unless you have a Muff Pot installed. That changes everything.

In 22 years of doing this sort of thing on my dyno, every time we've seen an increase in HP (one or two HP, sometimes zero) with indexed plugs, it has been with the ground strap opening pointed toward the exhaust port. Pointing the opening toward the exahaust port has never lost HP, only stayed the same or added 1/2 to 1%.

So Jim when you going to dyno some of the NEW fancy E3 plugs?

Good Luck
