Spare exhaust valve

What parts do you carry as a spare exhaust valve? Also I've seen in some pictures of engines that the valves are looped together (Disco Dan). Is this the same as blocking them off? Thanks.

I usually only carry an extra bellows and have gaskets at home but thats me, others may have a better program in that regard.

'Looping' them together is the same as blocking them off, with the added function of equalization between the two valves. In order to do this(referencing your above diagram) replace part #1 with a regular union instead of a tee fitting. This will connect the #3 tubes and allow pressure to be equal on the rear side of both valves. It will also bypass the exhaust valve solenoid.
 
Yeah, forgot about springs. I had been carrying an extra set when i changed colors, one color in the machine, one in the pack. Haven't taken them out yet, but an matchin spare is a good idea.
 
I haven't needed a spare spring since I started packing one, but I broke one 2 years ago deeeeep in the mountains... ruined some fun for sure.
 
I must be pretty confident in my sled... all I carry is some spare plugs, the factory tool kit, a couple extra hand tools (vise-grip, crescent wrench, and a multi-tool), and a spare belt.... lol

After last spring I may carry a spare primary bolt and a magnet tho, LOL:eek::face-icon-small-win
 
Looks like it's some pretty cheap insurance as far as the parts goes. I clean them every season but have'nt had a problem with them. Would turn a great day of riding into crap though.
 
I heard that you should plug them off individually, as to not have them try to equalize. That way they could work independently of each other

I had questioned this myself while writing my response, I chose the word 'function' instead of 'benefit' because of my doubts :face-icon-small-hap

In my mind it would seem that the stronger of the two cylinders may overpower the weaker cylinder in pressure, thus closing the weak side valve when it needs to be open. I have mine plugged individually.

I will dig up the thread in question and see if there is anything I might add instead of cluttering this thread :face-icon-small-win

The original thread is in the how-to's........it said to cut the head off a bolt and join the the two hoses with some zip ties i did mine like that a couple of years ago and never seemed to have any problems and i swear in my head i could feel a little more midrange....but i dunno....the coolness factor alone must be worth two hp's so mines stayin......
