We have been doing this for 3 years now on sleds. I won't personally build another sled without a stereo. Some will find it unnecessary but I don't like riding with buds. The experience of hearing music and the sled at the same time is unlike any riding experience, hard to describe. I can tell you it never gets old.

For a guy that hasn't spend a full day on a 2s in 7 years this was pretty cool. Snow wasn't epic by any means but we found 2' in the trees. I'm not going to get into the 4s vs 2s debate. I think we are all good on that lol. In video #1 I clearly am used to having more input to move the sled on my 4s. It ends of giving me the U-turn business.

This sled had factory electric start so the added weight of just the stereo would be in the 5-6lbs range. You wouldn't believe how many Pros we have done. For guys that cringe on the weight of adding a handlebar bag they sure think the stereo is cool to have…..odd bunch. The Sound Obsessions Facebook page has a couple Pros and a XM on it.

The can is the Evo stainless steel bullet. I didn't find it to be that loud even with the stereo. I like how it has a more growlly sound that is less annoying then the cracking of the 2s to a 4s guy. Has a Hindle type sound.

As for the stereo specs it is a JL Audio XD200 bridged for 200W rms to a 7.7" marine speaker. It's in a custom fiberglass enclosure that is removable so you can take the hood off. We use a source audio cable that charges the iPod and also has a 3.5mm jack as well. Volume is handled by a knob that controls the output of the amp. No head unit to deal with.

The halos we've also been doing for awhile. The hood lighting is just a strip of LEDs on the underside of the wings of the hood. Looks unreal when the sun starts going down.

The kit comes with a full harness prewired, the amp, speaker, Line-X speaker enclosure, and volume knob. Roughly $1200, if you don't have a battery on the sled then need one and a DC to DC kit to do it right. Have had guys run off the lighter plug but electronics for longevity like a nice constant supply of power so we always recommend that. Install is about 3-4 hours. Amp is sunk into the foam of the seat.

3 years and zero warranty for product failure.

Little nano with a 300 song shuffle is pretty cool. Doesn't matter what you play…..everyone thinks it's cool. I rocked a little Vanilla Ice last trip so I'd be down with some Hammertime. I have been witness many times in a group of nicely done various mod sleds with a stereo sled in the group and trust me…..no one cares about your 375hp 1100 or your 380lbs carbon finer M8. Stock sled with 2K worth of stereo and lighting wins every time. When you can supply the whole cabin on the hill with tunes from outside you are everyone's friend lol.

A little "ricey" in my opinion with the sound and lights. To each his own though...the last video with Katie Perry made me laugh haha

I didn't put it in this post but I think I mentioned in my thread on in the M1100 section that the iPod is my 11 year old sons. No judging on what comes up on the shuffle lol. I had some Nicki Minaj followed by Great White and then Nickleback. It's all good. Chicks dig the Katy haha.

Ricey it is. 18 years of high end car audio and you do what the market demands. I drive a twin turbo 5.9 with over 700hp at the wheel.....I have all kinds of fun with the ricers. Funny thing is the "haters" all looking at the sled just like them. It's all good.

So is this sound system just for proclimbs?

pretty sure they have sold more on the pros than on the proclimbs but ill let gene verify that

For under $100 u can buy waterproof bluetooth speakers.
I get 10hrs of play. Weighs about 1 lb. Believe me they are plenty loud. And I can take the speakers with me and even talk on the phone through them.

That's true. I have owned multiple A/V stores for 18 years now. I've done custom high end mobile audio for over 25. I sell bluetooth speakers, lots of them, I'm an Apple dealer. If it was "good enough" I would do it that. They aren't this loud, not even close, it's just physically not possible. We aren't "good enough" kind of people, and neither are my customers. Bluetooth speakers don't sound anything like this, trust me, lots have tried. Just like all the Hogtunes we replace for Harley guys, its "good enough" until you hear something way better. I get the same argument from SxS guys with the "bluetooth speaker works just fine"….until they hear what we do with them.

But if you can be happy with it, that's all that matters and that's great. But it's not the same thing….not even close. If we didn't have the demand we wouldn't make a production kit. Supply and demand.

We could all drive Kia's….. they get us from point A to point B no different than a Caddie….but we all don't. Not everyone can afford what any aftermarket company does, but there are lots that do and that's who we cater to.

I understand ur product is very nice and something I have wanted to do for quite a while just never followed through.
With the advancement in compact speaker sound quality and the ease of bluetooth. I just could not justify the expense of the full on radio and built in speakers.
My setup will not compare to urs in quality by any means but it will satisfy a different crowd.
My buddies laughed at me when they saw the speakers on my sled .... now some of them have them too. Lol
I am not an audiophile but I do understand.
As a kid I had the linear power amps and jl audio subs with mb quart components. I pissed off people from several blocks away. I don't need that on my sled. I have speakers inside my helmet too. They just didn't have the sound quality I was looking for.
I think u have a nice setup. I really like the lights.
I was just letting people know there are cheaper options that will satisfy most people.
