Went out for a ride today in miserable conditions, rain and fog. Wanted to check my clutching since just got the primary back from being balanced and put lighter weights in. Sled is a 2015 Pro 660. Seems to run good up to about 7600 rpm and then seems to have a miss and is slower running up to 8100 rpm. Any ideas on this from some of the mechanical gurus? Thanks. Gonna check plugs and all electrical connections tomorrow.

Spring binding, broke? Hangup on the spider? Did you see how it compressed in a clutch compressor? Or even with a bar with the belt off?

All looked good when I put everything back together but I might take everything apart tomorrow and check it all out. Thanks.

Power valves open around there.
Give them a once over.

Only 700 miles since power valves were serviced but when I have everything else apart I will look at them. Thanks

What clutching are you running? Slp pipe or stock? Fuel controller or just re-flash? Those 660s really love 83-8400 rpm. And it should get there extremely fast. At 6-8000 ft. I was running 62g belly busters, blue/pink primary spring, and a Carls secondary setup. Sled ripped!

Stock pipe with Carl's clutching. 62 gram Belly Busters with black/green primary (wanted smoother engagement) and gold spring in secondary. Revs up to 7600 quick but slower up to 8100 rpm. Running up to 7,000 ft. elevation. Went to the lighter weights since I wasn't pulling 7,900 rpm at about 6500 ft. elevation. Thanks for the help guys.

I would definitely check/clean exhaust valves. How new is your belt? Deflection set properly? And dumb question....your not running in ethanol mode right.

Belt in good shape, deflection good. Running non ethanol fuel. Heading out to garage to do power valves now. Thanks

Power valves seemed really dirty for only 700 miles. Lots of buildup on valves themselves and lots of oil in bellows area. All clean now. The really crappy part is that it is 50 degrees and raining right now. Forecast is really bad, may not get to ride it and check things out for quite some time. Last year we were done at this time. This sux!!!!!!

I usually always have a significant amount of oil in bellows area, seems normal. But if ur valves were fairly dirty and weren't sliding freely up and down in the cylinder than that very well could be the culprit. Good luck with the snow!!

Thanks. Keep hoping for snow for everybody. These valves were way dirtier than on my son's 800 Pro and his has way more miles. Guess I need to get on the gas more and quit lugging and riding like grandma going to church.
