I have never sumerized a sled by my self before and would really like to know how. Anyone have any tips for a newbi.

dump some sea foam in the tank(more is better) and run the sled for about 10 minutes then spray some deep creep in the carbs feathering the throttle to keep it running for a bit then continue spraying until the motor dies. take out plug and spray down into the cylinders put plugs back in Grease up the suspension and give the sled a good scrub down.
and now she's ready for her summer nap.

Summerize:

-Apply a good amount of grease to your exhaust bearing
-Remove the chaincase dipstick and store in a dry place, they seem to get loose like a noodle when submerged in the chaincase oil for a long period
-Wipe some engine oil over every inch of the plastic ski, this will insure they wont get brittle and crack from the dry summer
- Drain the fuel tank and fill it with 90% water and 10% steak sauce, the steak sauce will get watered down with the water and create a thermonuclear effect that will preserve your tank. Also apply a bit of steak sauce you your carb boots. Yes I know this sounds crazy, but its true and works great, wont cost you anything

Biggest thing is to hit every single grease fitting on the sled. Either fog your engine like others have said, or if your sleds are handy to you in the summer months, just start them up once a month and run them long enough to get the engines up to temp and shut them back down. This is actually better for the motors imo. The crank bearings stay lube this way as well.

I like to make sure mine is extra foamey:rolleyes:

I prefer I can't believe it's not butter better than the steak sauce, but then again I've never been much of a A1 fan.

Seriously, fog your motor by spraying fogging oil in the intake while running and shut it down while still spraying (like someone said before), take out the plugs and spray a bunch down the hole and put the plugs back in, before you do that though put fuel stabilizer in the tank. I top off the fuel so that there isn't room for condensation inside. I also tear down my diamond drive (if you own a cat) and flush it good and put new oil in to make sure there isn't any moisture in there that will sit all summer. Grease the fittings like said and pray for an early winter next season.

drain the fuel tank and run it till it dies... throw it in the corner of the garage...

or start it once a week and run it for a few minutes all summer...
