genetically modified cows with human DNA. They create human antibodies which help fight against various microbes. Of course this is only useful if it is determined that the blood transfusions are helpful in getting the immune system to fight the infection.

cool stuff, but hopefully the idiots of the world don't shut it down because they're Genetically Modified. GMO corn could cure cancer but the diluted people that make up the majority of our world would label it "unhealthy". They should come up with new terminology to sneak things like this past all the pro-organic folk in the world. Infusing cattle blood with humans is probably gonna be frowned upon

Yeah, pretty much the only people I know against GMO corn don't really understand why it is bad just that it is because some nutcase told them so and its better to listen to a random person than "the system".

And there is different terminology because they aren't injecting the cow's blood into people. They take the blood and centrifuge it until the various parts of the blood are separated. Then they take the plasma and take the antibodies from there. Nothing aside from human antibodies are used as far as I know, but cows can manufacture them faster than humans can(because they weigh hundreds of pounds more). I am sure that freaks people out until they realize things like this happen more than they think. Like insulin is made from bacteria with human DNA.
