So who will offer a new quick-drive belt?

So I'm not sure if Polaris has had enough failures of the Quick-Drive belts to think there is a problem Maybe it is the steel splined stub is glued into the aluminum shaft croocked that is taking out the belts?? Anyway I am sure there woul be a strong market here for an aftermarket belt and pulleys. Say 1.5 times wider would be what I would want. This would provide more contact area on the upper pulley and reduce chance of shearing the cogs.

I am surprized none of the machine shops have jumped on this or maybe they are waiting to see what Polaris will do first. I expect if the shafts are not to blame, Polaris will have to beef up this system for 2014.

Gearing changes would be the next obvious direction for aftermarket suppliers but we can't really make the top pulley smaller so a larger bottom would be required along with a cut job on the belly pan and a nice strong, good looking cover to protect the larger lower pulley.

Okay I am ready to order this kit, who do I call?:face-icon-small-con

C3 power sports made a new plate (instead of chain case) to accept their drivers and their belt for different gear ratios and it has a tensioner to take up slack.

Well that would be nice but would the belt manufactureres really see the need or the market? Wouldn't it be a better business decision to take a proven belt design, maybe 1.5 times wider and then machine pulleys to fit? I would think that the same belt would be available in a few choice lengths to accomodate gearing changes with different size pulleys. I also expect there are more machine shops capable of machining pulleys than there are belt companies that would be interested in producing a new belt for this relatively small market.

The belts really are not snapping... I've heard of only 3 or 4 that have snapped.

The teeth are stripping off...which has nothing to do with the choice of belting material.

I believe that the belts ARE Kevlar or Carbon...the Carbon belts have proven stronger and this is what CMX and C3 are using.
