So what does Tuesday mean to Utah?

I most assuredly will NOT be voting for Matheson.

After that horse crap "well its wilderness but we'll allow heli-skiing" swindle he can take a hike ..

I'm also for sure going to vote FOR HJR 8 and HJR 2 ...

What about you all?

Not sure about the gov. I might leave that one blank. I really don't like any of them !!

It means the same thing all over the US

Barely half the people will even show up to cast their vote.

A bunch of radicals for both sides will stomp their feet and throw a fit, regardless the outcome.

And in the end....business as usual........it's the American way!

Except for the fact that Philpot is much less likley to allow a religious group to engage in a public land grab than Matheson is ... IDK ..

Even though Matheson opposes SUWA's wilderness atrocity, he's going to get whittled away on it a lot more than a republican would.

Too bad Philpot is losing in the polls right now :(

Wow, no one wants to tackle this one. Everybody prefers to still like each other. Haha.

I always struggle with who to vote for. I rarely like just one candidate over another. I usually have points I like about each. For the most part I do like Matheson and few points that I don't and I feel similar about Philpot. Makes for really tough decisions. :face-icon-small-con

The more time I've had to think about this the easier it is to say that one party is better than the other, in this case the republicans are clearly the lesser of two evils.

Dig through some of the threads on just the Utah section of the forum and there are far too many that are closely related mismanagement and liberal agendas.

For instance all of the posts regarding lost jobs, how good are democrats at creating jobs? The answer that has been proven repeatedly is that they are miserable at it. Increased taxes, monitzed funding of government bailouts and the ever growing plague of social spending/public entitlement will do nothing but lead to exponential inflation that will cripple future generations in favor of preserving the stupidity of the moment.

What about land closures, public right of way and the 10th amendment issues (federal vs. state powers)? Trails have been closed, travel restricted and in some cases halted because of left leaning liberal activists. The claim has been made that republicans do far too little at times, and while I can't completely argue with that point I can say that millions upon millions of dollars are literally wasted every year over trivial concerns from the left. (Can you say legacy highway?)

Environmental concerns... no real science going on here, but we still insist on closing areas because a moose might hear a sled. Ethanol is introduced, yet it is done so with no benefit, decreased power per gallon, increased emissions and for what? These feel good measures to protect nature from man have little benefit and yet they are presented as fact.

Now I understand that not all of this can be tied to a single representative or party, yet the majority of the opposition to this stupidity has been opposed in nearly every case by the true conservative right.

Realize that while there may be little difference between the two candidates, there will be a world of difference when that candidate takes office and begins to support the infinitives you oppose while supporting his party's goals.

But who got out and voted EARLY?

Besides me..

What many current voters lack is the ability to think critically and not just follow the best ad campaign or a talking head on the TV or Radio.

Think for yourself; pick who you think will be best for your point of view and the civilization around you.

And then, for Gods sake, get off your butt and actually go VOTE instead of just moaning about who's in or out of office.

Chief out

Let me cut righ thru the bull$hit for ya

Demos Big goverment baby killers handouts

Republicans Less government work for what ya get.

Say what ya want but thats it. Matheson plays on the wrong team! Before ya get on you high horse about my pro life stance, Im adopted and my 1st son was born way to early he didnt make it. He was 21 weeks well within the abortion term limits. So save your breath.

DW for President

I am very political and have a very strong stance on many issues in which you speak . But the fact is I will be running for president in 2012 and must remain quiet on the issues in question. I have a solid platform. I will tell you that there will be no more war (I will handle the mid east from here) Immigration ( There will not be any) There will be NO bailouts or funding for wall street and there CEOs. But what there will be is government funding for plastic surgery for women and a subsidized boost program for all sledders. Can I lose? The way I figure...can I do worse? GOD BLESS AMERICA

If every America received an equal share of the bailout, we all would have new sleds with turbos, a new trailer to house it and a new truck to pull it around in. Now you tell me that the bailout wasn't money wasted by idiots who understand little to nothing about economics and/or leadership.

If this happened the Government would be rich! I'm sure all the people against bailouts and handouts would burn their checks in protest?

The smoke should block out the sun!

So what does Tuesday mean to Utah?

It means $2.50 drafts at Iggy's :beer;:beer;:beer;

And we took full advantage of that last night after we voted. :face-icon-small-hap

When you actually look at the amount of tax revenue generated by the average American it becomes very obvious very quickly that MOST of the people here aren't paying for much.

The top ten percent of earners pay 71% of all federal income, if that doesn't make you feel just a little bit ill then consider that 50% of the population pays less than 5% of the federal income and most of those do not even pay taxes.

So according to my math, at least 70% of the people would cash those checks. Still wonder how we got enough people to elect a president who's platform was federal entitlements?
