Well there is still plenty of snow up in the snowies. The east side of the pass is melting fast, but the north french creek/lake marie side is still deep. It's like riding a huge golf ball out there though. Really bumpy. There are some good climbs though. Stay away from the cornices. They are huge and some over by Widow maker are starting to let go. Watch for willows as the snow on top of those is getting rotten which can cause you to dip in and tag a rock. Lakes are starting to open up. Watch it as you B-line across them cause there are patches of elevated snow on the lakes still that can cause you to catch air.

We found a little feature to mess around on for awhile. Other than some nice climbs, it was the highlight feature of the day LOL.

I was riding in the Snowies this time last year....feeling pretty jealous now though!!

Good for you guys!

Any idea if it will be rideable on the 4th? Might be looking for a last ride of the year...

we were up on Friday and Saturday. Just as a reference about half the bathroom at Lake Marie was showing. We found plenty of snow on the back side, and should be plenty to ride.

Yeah there is still 5ft on the back side at 10000ft. Definitely will be able to ride the 4th. I might head up tomorrow just to claim a July ride since I've never done that before.

Good to hear it. Just need someone to go with. Anyone else planning on ridding the 4th?

I'm so jealous..my sled is in parts,,,Have a great ride on the fourth boys, show the looky loo's driving by what a devoted sled head does on the fourth,,,:amen: and be careful, watch what the snow is doing..........

We pulled the trailer over to HQ park an unloaded there, rode up to Quealy and back. Just to say we rode on the 4th. Never figured guarding against sunburn and mosquitoes would be a concern riding sleds:biggrin1:
