Snowy Range rescue

This was on April 22. We didn't think the snow was this deep. A tree well will surprise you.. It was funny ONLY when we got him out.

Good thing the sled stayed put. That would have been a real pile-driver adding injury to insult.........

Glad he was OK. Tree wells are really a serious matter.

I read a study a while back that said something like 85% of skier were unable to self rescue after falling into a tree well. I have been in some deep ones and they take some planning to get out. I would imagine with a set of skis it is even harder.

That sounds true. I think the problem is that they fall head first.
